Fitzpatrick Scale: Skin Types
The Fitzpatrick skin typing test measures several Genetic Disposition, Reaction to Sun Exposure and Tanning Habits:
- Pale skin, blonde or red-haired, freckles - Always burns, never tans.
- Light fair skin - Usually burns, tans with difficulty.
- Sensitive skin, beige - Sometimes mild burn, gradually tans, tans to a light bronze.
- Beige with a brown tint, dark hair, typical Mediterranean Caucasian skin - Rarely burns, tans with ease.
- Olive to dark brown skin - Very rarely burns, tans very easily.
- Dark to black skin - Never burns, tans very easily.
